Etna Easy Tour from Giardini Naxos

Etna Easy Tour is a half day morning excursion on Mount Etna, Europe's most active volcano, guided by certified local naturalist guides. Simple, authentic and stress-free, it's a great option for families, first-timers and anyone who wants a genuine Etna experience without a demanding trek.

The tour is arranged in several stages:

First stop

A guided trek among the craters on the north side of Etna, between 1,600 and 1,800 metres of altitude. A roughly 3 km round trip walk, lasting about 1.5-2 hours, through inactive craters, ancient lava flows and the volcano's endemic flora. A certified naturalist guide will explain the volcanic phenomena and the surrounding ecosystem along the way.

Second stop

A visit to a volcanic cave (lava tube). Helmets and head torches are provided on site. Please note this part of the tour is not accessible in winter due to snow conditions.

The excursion is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, with a difficulty ranging from easy to medium.

The itinerary and duration may vary depending on weather and volcanic conditions. The guide may adjust the route for safety reasons.

• Recommended Equipment: Comfortable, season-appropriate clothing and closed shoes such as trainers or hiking shoes (no sandals). We recommend bringing water, sunscreen and a light jacket, as it can be noticeably colder on Etna than at the coast, even in summer
