Description
Etna Sunset Tour from Giardini Naxos takes you up to the summit area of Europe's highest volcano right as the sun goes down.
The day unfolds in a few distinct moments:
First stop
A coach ride up to around 1,900 metres, where you switch to a jeep for the climb to the summit area, at around 3,000 metres, with professional CAI alpine guides.
Second stop
An optional walk and the sunset itself, watched from a safe distance from the central crater. As darkness falls, you may be able to spot volcanic activity too.
The jeep then brings you back down to 1,900 metres, where the coach picks you up for the return journey. An optional dinner at a typical restaurant is available at your own extra cost.
