Good Morning Etna — Half Day Tour from Giardini Naxos

Half day excursion on Mount Etna from Giardini Naxos, a short and scenic drive from the coast to Europe's most active volcano. Set off in the morning light for an easy escape from the beach, rounded off with a traditional Sicilian-style snack.

The tour is arranged in several stages

First stop

You will explore the volcanic fields by a leisurely trek, walking through deserts of ash and lava. Hiking through ancient woods and along lava covered paths, you will explore and admire extinct craters and lava flows.

Second stop

Equipped with helmets and torchlights that the tour company will provide for free, you will be able to get in the volcanic underground and visit one of striking volcanic caves of our volcano; during this part the guide will explain origins, characteristics and uses of the of this fascinating volcanic phenomenon.

Third stop

The tour company offers you a delicious snack in a mountain hut; you will flavour a sandwich made from typical bread and local products, local wine, a home-made dessert and a taste of sweet almond wine to finish off (vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options available upon request).

The excursion is perfect for people of all ages and for all those who enjoy a good state of health.

Depending on weather conditions the guide can make changes in the itinerary above mentioned.

NB: Confirmed departure with minimum 4 people. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers.

• Pick up: Pick up and drop-off outside/nearby your accommodation in Giardini Naxos or in its close vicinity (depending on the accommodation's location, a convenient meeting point will be organized). Pick up also from surrounding areas (Taormina, Letojanni, Castelmola)
• Recommended Equipment: We recommend wearing comfortable and season-appropriate clothes, hiking boots or training shoes (please consider that the temperature on Etna is generally lower). The Tour Company can provide windproof jackets and hiking boots, although, if possible, we suggest you wear your own hiking boots or trainers, as you already know they fit well. In case you don't have any, you can borrow shoes and jackets for free; if you want to borrow boots we recommend you wear/bring a pair of socks with you. We suggest you bring with you a bag/backpack with a bottle of water, a jacket, a hat and sunblock.
