Description
Syracuse Group Tour from Giardini Naxos is a coach excursion, with a tour leader on board and a local guide on site, along the coast to one of Sicily's great Greek cities.
The day unfolds in a few distinct moments:
First stop
The Neapolis Archaeological Park, dating back to the 5th century BC: the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Altar of Hieron II and the Latomie del Paradiso, including the Ear of Dionysius.
Second stop
Ortigia, Syracuse's historic centre: the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral - a Baroque church built over an ancient temple - and the Fountain of Arethusa, lined with papyrus plants.
Third stop
Free time to walk down to the Grand Harbour and Foro Italico, with the option of lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense).
The coach then heads back to the starting point.
